- Huntsville
-
- Huntsville, Texas is located a short one and a
half hour drive north of Houston. It is the home of General Houston, his
wife Margaret, and a bunch of kids. General Houston and his family lived
at Woodland for many years while the General was Senator from the State of Texas
in Washington. He referred to this time in his life as some of the fondest
of times. The Woodland home is located on the campus of Sam Houston State
University and is a beautiful example of the classic "Dog Run"
architecture so popular in early Texas.
